Early Access to Water and Feed (1)

Since the early ’90s, many studies highlighted the benefits of early feeding and water on chick performance. During the immediate post-hatch period, the yolk is used for maintenance and for intestinal growth, yolk nutrient supply is not enough to support the rapid growth of the newly hatched chick, and the dependence of chicks on residual yolk sac in the first days post-hatch limits the growth potential, weight gain increases the susceptibility to pathogens resulting in poor performance of broilers. Holding hatchlings without feed and water for more than 24 h can have lasting negative effects on broiler performance.
So you better give your chicks the feed and water they need as fast as possible in the best possible mean.
